Creating Your Account
MaltaGuns connects licensed firearm owners, collectors, and dealers across Malta. Before you can save listings, contact sellers, or publish your own items, you'll need a MaltaGuns account.
This guide walks you through registration, profile setup, and the verification steps that unlock full marketplace access.
This guide is general information, not legal advice. Firearms licensing and transfer rules are set by Maltese law and enforced by the Police Weapons Office.
Before you start
You'll need:
A valid email address you can access
Your full legal name, date of birth, phone number, and address in Malta
A strong password (at least 8 characters, including upper and lower case letters and a number)
You must be at least 18 years old
Step 1: Register
Go to Register or click Register in the site header.
Complete the form with your username, name, email, password, date of birth, phone number, and address.
Choose how you'd like to be contacted (email, phone, or both).
Read and accept the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
Submit the form. Check your email for a confirmation link if prompted.
Username tip: Your username is public and cannot contain @ or . characters. Pick something you'll be comfortable showing to other marketplace users.
Step 2: Log in and open your profile
Once registered, sign in at Login. Open your profile from the account menu to review your details and update your contact preferences at any time.
From your profile you can:
Update personal details and contact preferences
Manage your wishlist and saved listings
View your listing credits and seller status
Start identity verification when you're ready to sell
Step 3: Verify your identity (for selling)
Browsing and contacting sellers does not require identity verification. If you want to sell firearms on MaltaGuns, you'll need to complete identity verification through our secure partner, Didit.
Open your profile and go to the Seller Status section.
Start identity verification and follow the on-screen steps.
You'll be redirected to a secure verification page where you'll confirm your identity with a valid ID document.
When approved, your profile will show a verified identity badge.
Verification typically takes a few minutes, though some cases are reviewed manually. If your session expires or is declined, you can start a new verification from your profile.
Step 4: Upload your firearms license (firearms sellers only)
To list firearms (not just accessories or non-firearms items), you must also upload a copy of your valid firearms license in the Seller Status section. MaltaGuns checks that your license type matches the categories you're allowed to sell.
Non-firearms listings (airsoft, reloading equipment, militaria, accessories) have lighter requirements but still need a verified account for publishing.

Use a unique password you don't reuse on other sites.
Keep your email and phone number up to date so you don't miss important messages.
Log out on shared devices.
If you forget your password, use the reset link on the login page.
FAQs
Is registration free?
Yes. Creating a MaltaGuns account is free.
Do I need a firearms license to register?
No. Anyone 18 or over can register. A license is only required if you want to sell firearms.
How long does identity verification take?
Most verifications complete within minutes. Manual reviews may take longer.
Can dealers register too?
Yes. Licensed gun stores and other establishments can register separate establishment accounts. See our Terms for details.
Requirements can change. Always confirm licensing and transfer rules with the Police Weapons Office before buying or selling firearms.
